About

When my dad had a stroke, everything changed in an instant. My parents are in their 80s, and I suddenly found myself navigating medical appointments, medications, rehab schedules, insurance questions — all while trying to keep up with my own job and life.

I remember sitting at the kitchen table surrounded by papers, notebooks, and sticky notes, feeling completely overwhelmed.

I started searching for ways to stay organized and find guidance, but so much of what I found felt either too clinical or didn’t really speak to the heart of what caregiving feels like.

So I began creating my own tools — simple printables to track medications, questions for doctors, and daily routines. As I built them, I realized something: if these things were helping me, maybe they could help other families too.

That’s how BrightRefuge was born — out of love, necessity, and the belief that none of us should have to figure this out alone.

You're not alone on this caregiving journey.

I know what it feels like to suddenly become "the one" who has to figure it all out - the schedules, the medicines, the paperwork, and the emotions that come with it.
